Service Call Rates
What is a service call?
A service call is the amount of money a service company need to charge its customers for the administration, petrol, marketing and other costs involved in makeing a ‘house call’, usually before you even get to labour. Everyone knows that if a company that offers a free quote or a flat fee structure then they must have another way to charge because no one can afford to work for free. And nor should they, after all would you use your petrol and time to work for free?
These companies often inflate the price of their spare parts, ‘fix’ things that are not broken or replace extra parts that don’t need replacing to cover their losses. David McKay & Co buys direct, so YOU save on the cost of spare parts! Also, we strive to maintain the Australian Standards Organisations standard for In-Home Service (AS/NZS 3760:2003.), together with maintaining membership of the AIA and ECA industry bodies so you can rest assured that your appliance is in the good hands of an ethical electrician.
David McKay & Co provides a simple fee structure. Our service call is $99 (inc GST), and the first 15 minutes of labour is already included, which covers any assessment and quotation fees. After the first 15 minutes, labour is charged at an additional $16.50 (inc GST) for every 10 minutes.
Alternatively, if you don’t want to spend the $99 and you also have a ute/trailer/van, then why not bring your appliance into our workshop! Our workshop fee is $49.50 per appliance - that’s half the price!
